Certified Urgent Care by the Urgent Care Association of America

Velocity Care Urgent Treatment Center shares what it means to be certified

Certified Urgent CareMany people often wonder, what is an urgent care facility? One of the best ways to describe Velocity Care is that we are walk-in clinics that make excellent health care more convenient and affordable for you and your family. The Urgent Care Association of America’s Certified Urgent Care (CUC) program confirms that the Velocity Care Treatment Center locations on Youree Drive and Chenal Parkway meet a nationally standardized criteria and demonstrate a commitment to provide patients with the highest-level care.

What is the Certified Urgent Care program?

Since 2009, the UCAOA CUC program has grown to more than 900 certified centers nationwide, becoming synonymous with excellence. Velocity Care Treatment Centers are proud to be a part of such high accreditation and recognition.

The CUC program recognizes urgent care facilities that meet nationally standardized criteria, demonstrating their commitment to satisfy the scope of expectations that defines a qualified urgent care facility. The CUC designation tells patients that the care center's scope of practice covers a wide range of services that allow for care of a broad spectrum of illness, injury and disease.

Our Shreveport, La. and Little Rock, Ark. clinics meet or exceed the criteria below:

  • A licensed physician or provider on site during all hours.
  • X-ray on site.
  • Phlebotomy services on site.
  • Oxygen, ambu-bag/oral airway on site.
  • Automated external defibrillator (AED) on site.
  • EKGs obtained and read on site.
  • PO, IM and IV medication or fluids administered on site.
  • Minor procedures performed on site (ex., cyst removal, splinting, incision and drainage).
  • Multiple exam rooms.
  • Separate waiting area.

Considering a clinic with a CUC certification will give you confidence when choosing a provider who can treat you and your family’s urgent health needs. At Velocity Care we are here to help.
