Know what to expect at a Velocity Care clinic
What happens after a Velocity Care emergency medicine physician evaluates you in an urgent care clinic? First, the physician will discuss your diagnosis with you before you leave. This is the time for any questions or concerns that you have for the physician. Our goal is to make you feel comfortable and confident with your health and treatment.
We provide information and follow-up procedures. After you leave, if you experience any complications, you can stop by a clinic to be seen by a board-certified physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner.
You will be advised on all areas of your visit, including:
- Follow-up care procedures.
- X-ray results.
- Laboratory results.
- Visit summary.
- Written instructions.
- Prescription information.
A nurse may assist the physician during your discharge. We know that time is valuable to you, and we make sure to keep wait time, diagnosis and discharge quick and efficient. On request, we can transfer your complete record of treatment to your primary care physician.
Our clinics are open seven days a week because we know emergencies don’t wait. We want to make urgent health care more convenient for your family. Velocity Care offers you ER doctors, without the dreaded ER wait.
Many patients go home after their visit to a Velocity Care Urgent Treatment Center clinic location. If your condition is severe and our physician recommends you go to the hospital for more critical care, we will make your transition smooth. Some people drive themselves to the hospital. Depending on the severity of their condition, some may need to be transported by ambulance.
Velocity Care Urgent Care Center will handle all of the discharge arrangements and make the next steps clear for you and your family’s treatment. Visit www.velocitycare.com/locations to find a clinic near you.
