Urinary Tract Infections
Urinary Tract Infections are more common in women than men. Studies have found that 1 in 2 women will experience at least one in her lifetime.
Velocity Care can perform a Urinalysis from a urine sample to determine if an infection is present. If you have frequent UTIs your provider may send your urine to be cultured. A urine culture can take up to 48 hours and will determine which bacteria is present and which antibiotics will treat it to ensure you are receiving the correct medication.
If a UTI is present, it is treated with antibiotics. It is very important to finish the entire course of antibiotics even after the pain has resolved. Drink lots of water to help flush the bacteria from your system.
